The department will distribute funding to states for safe housing for recovering youth
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has allocated over $45 million into its State Opioid Response program, making the funding available for states to create and upkeep safe housing for homeless youth recovering from opioid addiction. Safe housing is a proven method for opioid addicts to safely process through their mental health conditions while providing the support necessary to transition away from unhealthy coping mechanisms.
“President Trump has elevated this issue as a key public health and public safety priority,” said Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. “All too often, young adults with opioid or stimulant use disorders lack safe housing to support their recovery. This funding can make a life-changing difference for young people working toward long-term recovery.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Kennedy to be prudent as he oversees the funding for the State Opioid Response program.
- For U.S. health and housing officials as they collaborate on options and methods to assist addicted and homeless youth in the nation.
