VERSE OF THE WEEK
For I the Lord do not change. – Malachi 3:6
Reliable
People say that change, like death and taxes, is inevitable. Whether you are prepared for it or not, it is part of life. It can be pleasant, like watching a youngster turn into a thriving adult. Sometimes the process of change is painful, such as walking alongside an aging parent entering the last stage of their life. However, there would be no growth or improvement in life without change. While some people are energized and enthusiastic about the possibilities tomorrow holds, others may feel apprehension or dread about the changes to come. For the Christ-follower, there is a constant in the midst of transitions. The Lord does not change. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. You can rely on Him, His faithfulness to you, and His mercy toward you. An old praise chorus says, “Many things about tomorrow I don’t seem to understand; but I know Who holds the future, and I know He holds my hand.”
