Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The Department of Veterans Affairs reported that more than 300,000 veterans have newly enrolled in the VA healthcare system in 2026. The VA also processed a record-high number of disability compensation claims in fiscal year 2026. Secretary Doug Collins highlighted the improvements and reforms his department has made, stating, “From expanding access to care, to reducing backlogs and wait times, and rebuilding VA facilities, President Trump’s VA is putting Veterans first in all that we do.”

Pray for President Trump and Secretary Collins as they work to ensure American veterans have access to healthcare resources and benefits in an effective and timely manner.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Representatives Marlin Stutzman and Erin Houchin of Indiana, Sheri Biggs of South Carolina, John Rose of Tennessee, and Zach Nunn of Iowa sent a letter to Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Commissioner Cathy Engelbert inquiring about the league’s refusal to admit two NBA players who claimed to identify as women. The commissioner responded that the two players were men, but did not offer a definition of “woman.” Congressman Stutzman stated, “Simply identifying as a woman does not change basic human biology.”

Pray for members of Congress as they seek to ensure girls’ and women’s sports exclusively accept female players.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, chaired by Senator Ted Cruz of Texas, will be taking up Senator Susan Collins’ request to extend a moratorium on new North Atlantic right whale protections. Senators Collins and Angus King, both of Maine, said, “It is critical that any future regulatory actions appropriately balance protecting North Atlantic right whales with the economic and practical realities facing Maine’s lobster industry.” Senator Cruz stated, “Senator Collins’ leadership has been instrumental in advancing this bill to protect Maine’s lobstermen from burdensome regulations.”

Pray for chairs and members of congressional committees as they attempt to balance commerce and employment with regulations that protect endangered species.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A senior U.S. district judge issued a court order disqualifying First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, barring him from two criminal cases. Judge J. Michael Seabright wrote that Essayli “is unlawfully serving as a ‘de facto’ United States Attorney.” The Justice Department was given five days to request a stay pending appeal. Essayli stated, “The Supreme Court will ultimately decide this matter.”

Pray for federal justices and judges as they review legal challenges to the actions and appointments of the president’s administration.
