Issue 773 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) are investigating reports that cartel leaders have threatened to kidnap U.S. federal agents serving along the U.S.-Mexico border. The CBP stated that it “maintains proactive intelligence on all foreign actors that are a threat to the homeland” and that “all relevant information is diligently vetted with appropriate partners to determine validity.”

Pray for Secretary Mullin, DHS, and CBP officials as they continue efforts to secure the U.S. border and gather intelligence on narco-terrorist plots to harm federal agents.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas and Representative Harriet Hageman of Wyoming authored the Stop Climate Shakedowns Act last month to prohibit states from forcing oil companies to pay for environmental resilience and infrastructure repair projects. In addition to ongoing lawsuits, a dozen states have introduced laws requiring massive payments, and Vermont and New York have already passed them. Senator Cruz said, “Our judicial system has been weaponized against American energy producers… to bankrupt our energy industry, kill good-paying jobs, and drive up the cost of electricity and gasoline for hardworking families.”

Pray for senators and representatives as they collaborate on bills to protect the nation’s energy industry and infrastructure.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Judiciary Committee, chaired by Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, approved the Shut Down Sanctuary Policies Act of 2026 earlier this year. Congressman Jordan is advocating for the legislation to come to a floor vote before the end of the current session. He explained that the legislation “allows people who’ve been harmed, where local political leaders tell the local law enforcement they can’t work with federal law enforcement, detainers aren’t honored… to go take that city, take that state to court.”

Pray for members of House and Senate committees to be prudent in the review of legislation and consideration for or against their approval.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The Supreme Court has agreed to hear a case to clarify whether being employed as a cook by a terrorist organization is the same as providing “material support“ under U.S. immigration laws. Federal law states that an individual who “affords material support“ to such a group is “ineligible to be admitted to the United States.”

Pray for federal justices and judges as they interpret U.S. immigration laws and consider cases involving asylum eligibility.
