Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
The State Department announced that the Republic of Djibouti joined the Artemis Accords this week. “Djibouti is the 72nd country to sign the Accords to date, pledging its commitment to the peaceful exploration of space,” the department explained. NASA Deputy Administrator Matthew Anderson and State Department Assistant Secretary for African Affairs Frank Garcia were present at the signing ceremony at the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Pray for U.S. diplomats and space officials as they encourage and welcome foreign nations to join the Artemis Accords and promote the peaceful exploration of space.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
U.S. Representatives from Northern Texas Beth Van Duyne, Pat Fallon, Ronny Jackson, and Brandon Gill sent a letter to Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, and Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling requesting a “coordinated, interagency investigation into reported H-1B [visa] fraud activities” in their region. The legislators stated, “The concentration of these activities in North Texas—a major economic hub for our nation—raises additional concerns about localized exploitation of the system.”
Pray for members of the House as they request federal investigative action in specific regions to combat or prevent fraud.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
Member of the House Committee on Government Oversight and Reform, Representative Robert Garcia of California, sent a letter to the White House and Donald Trump, Jr., to investigate reports of Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev’s contribution to the president’s son’s wedding in the Bahamas in May. Congressman Garcia wrote, “The secretive and exorbitant gifts you have received as the son of a sitting U.S. President from a member of [President] Putin’s inner circle raises serious national security and public corruption concerns.”
Pray for wisdom for members of House and Senate committees as they conduct investigations into allegations of corruption or potential breaches of national security.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
U.S. District Judge Robert Payne ruled that the state of Virginia cannot enforce new legislation that restricts local law enforcement from cooperating with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement while a legal challenge proceeds. The state law seeks to impose limitations on local agencies participating in the federal government’s 287(g) program, collaborating on immigration enforcement. State challenges to federal law enforcement operations often fail under the Supremacy Clause.
Pray for federal judges as they hear cases and issue rulings on immigration enforcement policies and jurisdictional authority.
