White House Releases Report on Crime Reduction

The Major Cities Chiefs Association midyear report shows homicide was down 17.2 percent in the first half of 2026.

The White House released a summary of a new mid-year crime report that shows a significant reduction in violent crime. Officials also included a graph of the ten cities with the largest drop in homicides. President Trump’s Beautiful and Safe Initiative deployed National Guard to support law enforcement efforts to reduce crime in Washington D.C., which was one of the cities on the list.

The White House stated, “According to the Major Cities Chiefs Association, homicides in the nation’s largest cities are down 17.2% from the first half of last year — alongside sharp declines in robberies, rapes, aggravated assaults, and overall violent crime. That translates to nearly 14,200 fewer reported violent crimes in just six months. The Council on Criminal Justice finds the national murder rate is on pace to hit the lowest level in at least 126 years.”

White House Spokesperson Lauren Bis said, “President Trump will always stand with our law enforcement officers and deliver safer American neighborhoods.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation will soon release its 2025 Crime Statistics Report.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he continues to promote law enforcement for public safety.
  • For Director Patel as he heads the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prepares the crime statistics report.
  • For the Lord’s protection over federal, state, and local law enforcement as they seek to keep the peace and ensure safe cities and communities.
