Bureau of Land Management Reports Record Second Quarter Oil and Gas Lease Sales

A record-breaking $4.1 billion in oil and gas lease sales was generated in support of the president’s Energy Dominance initiative.

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced that a record-breaking $4.1 billion was generated from oil and gas lease sales for the second quarter of 2026. These sales are a result of President Trump’s Energy Dominance initiative, which is intended to strengthen domestic energy production and support energy independence in the U.S.

BLM Director Steve Pearce stated that the second quarter totals generated more revenue than the entire four-year period between President Trump’s first and second terms. Director Pearce continued, “It shows how we can use public lands to their fullest potential. These successful sales demonstrate the BLM’s unwavering commitment to fostering American Energy Dominance while ensuring public lands are supporting national security, economic strength and the livelihood of the American people.”

Between April and June, the bureau sold 389 parcels totaling 355,456 acres, with the majority of the revenue from New Mexico. Oil and gas lease sales were also made in Alaska, Colorado, Nevada, North and South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Director Pearce as he oversees the Bureau of Land Management and its stewardship of approximately 245 million acres of public land.
  • For President Trump as he continues to support policies that seek to strengthen energy production in the U.S.
