Pray for America’s Military
Secretary Pete Hegseth announced a testosterone screening for male members of the U.S. Armed Forces. The testing for the hormone deficiency will be part of the standard health assessment for service members 30 and older. Men under 30 may be screened voluntarily. “It’s well-established science that, as we age, testosterone levels often naturally drop,” Secretary Hegseth said. He highlighted that the initiative is about restoring and optimizing natural capabilities, protecting longevity, and ensuring men have the “biological foundation required to sustain the fight.”
Pray for Secretary Hegseth, General Caine, and U.S. military commanders and leadership as they seek to support the health and resilience of American troops and personnel.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
Nicaraguan Leader Daniel Ortega, whose term was set to end next year and who shares power with his wife, announced the end of presidential elections. U.S. Secretary of State Rubio stated, “Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo have abandoned even the pretense of popular consent. The Nicaraguan people have the right to choose their own leaders through democratic elections.”
The U.S. State Department announced that, starting August 1, a formal transition-to-democracy phase, led by Dinorah Figuera, will begin “to advance Venezuela’s stability, democracy, and national recovery.” The effort will lay the foundations of a Supreme Court not seated with allies of the regime and a new National Electoral Council, with rules and plans for future elections. The department stated, “The devastating earthquakes have underscored the urgency of unity, responsible leadership, and institutions capable of serving the Venezuelan people.”
Pray for Secretary Rubio and U.S. diplomats as they engage in discussions surrounding liberty, civil rights, and humanitarian assistance.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued a food safety alert regarding the outbreak of cyclosporiasis infections. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) traced iceberg lettuce from Mexico distributed by Taylor Farms to Taco Bell restaurants across Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, and West Virginia as the source of the outbreak. The CDC stated, “Shredded iceberg lettuce sold in grocery stores or served in other restaurants is not affected.”
Pray for FDA and CDC officials as they track and issue alerts regarding food safety and public health concerns.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Delaware Governor Matt Meyer signed the Freshwater Wetlands Stewardship Act this week, which is intended to compensate for regulatory reductions at the federal level. The legislation is Delaware’s first comprehensive program to protect wetlands, clarifying the permitting process for landowners, businesses, and developers.
Governor Bob Ferguson has proposed a requirement for all high school seniors to complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms to graduate, as the state of Washington has ranked in the bottom ten for applications. Students wishing to opt out would need to sign an agreement. “Let’s be honest: 40th is not gonna get the job done,” Governor Ferguson said. “More and more states are requiring young people to complete the FAFSA in order to graduate.”
Pray for state governors, attorneys general, secretaries of state, and legislators as they assess the concerns of their constituents.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
