Outgoing Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced she would release of documentation regarding funding for gain-of-function research on Friday.
The now-former director stated, “On my final day as Director of National Intelligence, I’m releasing never-before-seen communications and documents exposing how [former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director] Dr. [Anthony] Fauci provided millions in U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund dangerous gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab, worked with politicized elements within the Intelligence Community to suppress the truth about his actions and hide the virus’ lab-leak origins, and lied to Congress while under oath in 2024. It’s time you know the truth.“
DNI Gabbard released declassified evidence earlier this month that revealed the United States had funded and supported at least 120 biological laboratories around the world. She also issued new guidance to the Intelligence Community at that time, instructing the increase of information collection on these laboratories and facilities overseas, including details on clinical trials currently underway at these facilities.
