But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. – Philippians 3:20
Citizenship
If you are born in the USA or have been naturalized, you are a citizen of this blessed land. There are laws you are expected to follow, privileges you have been granted, and the general assumption is that you will live in peace with those around you. If you believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and yield to Him as Lord, you are also a citizen of Heaven. This is true right NOW. As such, you are expected to conduct yourself according to God’s laws, to enjoy and be thankful for the blessings He gives you each day, and to embrace the commands of Jesus to love God and your neighbor. Then, as today’s verse says, be looking for Jesus’ return. A social media post stated, “I’m no longer looking for the signs of the times, I’m listening for the trumpet of God.” Live as a solid citizen and keep looking up!
