The inspector general is conducting a review of contracts that had yet to be signed by his predecessor.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told members of the House Homeland Security Committee that contracts prepared by the previous secretary are under review. He pledged to provide Congress with a list of contracts that would be canceled.
“We are looking at the contracts that weren’t already signed, and we did go through and cancel most of those,” Secretary Mullin said. “We stopped the contracts moving forward on some of the stuff that wasn’t already signed.“
Secretary Mullin told the committee members, “Some of the contracts were already there, they’re there unless we — unless the IG takes a look at them and says that they were falsely signed under false circumstances, I can’t cancel unless it’s under penalty.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Mullin to seek God’s direction as he heads the Department of Homeland Security.
- For the DHS inspector general as the contract review is conducted.
- For discernment for DHS officials as they seek to enforce federal immigration laws.
