Day 18 – A Call to Humility
If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.2 Chronicles 7:14
Suggested Prayer Topics:
- That pride would give way to repentance, surrender, and deeper dependence on God
- For humility to begin in our own hearts, homes, churches, and leadership
- That God would heal, restore, and renew as His people seek Him with sincerity
Close Your 2:50: Lord, we humble ourselves before You and ask that You soften our hearts, turn us from pride, and lead us in Your ways.

Going Deeper
The Vigil of Renewal: Seeking Humility and Repentance
A vigil of renewal is a focused time of prayer that brings us humbly before God with honesty, repentance, and surrender. It is the posture of recognizing our need for Him, laying down pride, self-reliance, and false security, and asking Him to search us, cleanse us, and lead us in His ways.
Humility is often the beginning of renewal. When pride governs our hearts, repentance is resisted and dependence on God fades. But when we humble ourselves before the Lord, we make room for His mercy, correction, and healing. This day invites us to pray for softened hearts, sincere repentance, and a fresh turning toward God in ourselves, our homes, churches, communities, and nation.
“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” — Psalm 139:23-24
Praying for Humility, Repentance, and Renewal
- Pray that God would search our hearts and expose pride, self-reliance, and anything that keeps us from wholehearted obedience
- Ask the Lord to lead His people into sincere repentance, deeper surrender, and a renewed hunger for His presence
- Intercede for humility in homes, churches, and leadership, that people would seek God’s will above personal ambition or opinion
- Pray for mercy over our nation, asking God to forgive, restore, and heal where sin, pride, and hardness have taken root
- Ask God to begin renewal in us personally, so that our prayers are marked not only by words, but by changed hearts and faithful lives
Bring Others With You
Share with a trusted friend, family member, or fellow believer, inviting them to help hold you accountable to a posture of humility, repentance, and openness to God.
The journey continues. Thank you for pressing on with others as we lift our leaders and nation in prayer, one voice, joined together.
