Vigil for Future Generations: Covering America’s Children and Youth in Prayer
This vigil is a focused time of prayer for children, youth, and future generations where we ask God to protect them, form their character, reveal His truth to them that they might form a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Every generation is shaped by what it loves, believes, and follows. As children and young people grow in a world filled with competing voices, they need godly protection, spiritual discernment, and courageous faith. When we pray for the next generation, we are asking God to raise up young lives marked by truth, purity, wisdom, purpose, and wholehearted devotion to Him.

Praying for the Next Generation
- Pray for God’s protection over children and youth — Ask Him to guard them physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually
- Ask God to reveal truth and expose deception — Pray that young hearts and minds would recognize His voice above every counterfeit
- Intercede for identity and purpose in Christ — Ask the Lord to anchor the next generation in who He says they are and what He has called them to do
- Pray for bold faith and strong character — Ask God to raise up young people who walk with integrity, courage, purity, and obedience
- Lift up parents, families, mentors, churches, and teachers — Pray they would faithfully model truth, provide wise guidance, and nurture spiritual growth
- Ask God to awaken future generations for His glory — Pray that children and youth would become wholehearted disciples who influence homes, communities, and the nation for Christ
Bring Others With You
Invite a parent, grandparent, teacher, youth leader, or friend to pray with you for the next generation. Take time to name specific children or students and bring them before the Lord and ask Him to shape their lives for His purposes.
