Day 5 – Families and Homes

And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lord, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

Suggested Prayer Topics:

  • For strength in America’s families
  • For parents to lead with wisdom and faith
  • For restoration where there is brokenness

Close Your 2:50: Rest Your peace over every home tonight, Lord. Let what has been lifted before You settle deeply.

The Family Vigil: Uniting Your Household Before God

A family vigil calls households to come together in prayer, placing God at the center of the home and inviting His presence into daily life. When families unite in prayer, spiritual strength grows and faith becomes a shared foundation.

“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15

Covering Your Home in Prayer

  • Gather your household or loved ones and set aside intentional time to pray together, even if just for a few moments of intentional prayer
  • Speak blessing over one another to encourage and affirm each person through prayer
  • Lift up individual needs and bring both practical and spiritual concerns before God
  • Invite God into your daily life by asking Him to guide your home with peace, wisdom, and love
  • Commit your family to His purpose when you place your household in His hands, trusting Him to lead your future

Bring Others With You

Ask another family if they have needs you can pray over for them. Perhaps even invite them to join you, even informally, for a shared moment of prayer.

The journey continues. Thank you for pressing on with others as we lift our leaders and nation in prayer, one voice, joined together.
