Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
The USS Gerald Ford has gone from the Middle East to Crete, Greece, for repairs after a fire, unrelated to Operation Epic Fury, broke out in the laundry area. Over 200 sailors were treated for smoke inhalation. “The aircraft carrier remains fully mission capable,” The U.S. Navy explained. “The port call allows for the ship to undergo efficient assessment, repairs, and resupply.” The USS Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group remains in the Sea of Oman as part of the ongoing mission against the Iranian regime.
Pray for President Trump and his military advisors as they assess the progress the U.S. and Israel have made against the Iranian regime.
Pray for America’s Foreign Relations
After President Trump announced “constructive talks” with Iran, Russia urged the regime to come to “a political and diplomatic settlement.” Ukraine hit Russia’s Primorsk oil port in the Baltic Sea with a drone attack last weekend, putting additional pressure on Russia’s energy sector.
Iran has begun charging a safe passage fee for vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The United Kingdom is heading a coalition that will sweep for and remove dozens of mines laid in the narrow shipping lane by Iran. The U.S. has reportedly destroyed or badly damaged 44 Iranian mine-laying boats.
Pray for U.S. officials as they seek peace agreements and an end to hostilities in the Middle East.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that maternal mortality rates have steadily decreased since the Supreme Court issued the Dobbs decision in 2022, which overturned Roe v. Wade. The maternal death rate average was 32.9 per 100,000 live births the year before the court’s decision. The most recent data show that maternal mortality dropped to 17.9 in 2024, nearing the 2018 rate of 17.4 per 100,000 live births. Infant mortality has also slightly decreased since the Dobbs ruling.
Pray for Acting Director Bhattacharya and CDC officials as they review and publish health data and statistics.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Hawaii’s House and Senate are considering identical bills titled “Related to Emergency Management,” that would grant the governor sweeping emergency powers. Under the legislation, the state’s governor would be the “sole judge” of the threat of an emergency, and would be authorized to quarantine residents, enter private property and destroy property without consent, suspend laws, and seize control of infrastructure in preparation for the threat of impending disasters or disease outbreaks. Governor Josh Green has been governing under a housing emergency proclamation, which has suspended regulations on land-use and transparency.
The Ohio legislature is considering a bill that would allow residents or organizations in the state to seek punitive damages from municipalities when challenging city gun ordinances that do not align with state laws. While the state has prohibited local jurisdictions from creating their own regulations under Ohio’s firearm uniformity law, this measure would provide an additional mechanism to deter local governments from deviating from state laws.
Pray for members of state legislatures as they craft bills and laws to address the issues and needs of their residents.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“In John chapter eight, verse 12, Jesus said to them, ‘I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.‘
Then in Matthew chapter five, Jesus said this: ‘Ye are the light of the world.‘ So which one is it? Is Jesus the light of the world or are we the light of the world? The answer is yes. But He’s the source. He’s the source of light where it first starts. It is just kind of this cool thing of what happens. Christ comes to us and lights our light up, and then we get to be lights in this world.
He says, ‘Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick.‘ The candlestick speaks of the Church, by the way. ‘And it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.‘“ – Brett Meador, Today’s Word Radio, Through the Bible – Zechariah 4, Pt. 2
