President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with the executives of major technology companies today at the White House.

The president is having officials from Amazon, Google, Meta, Microsoft, xAI, Oracle, and OpenAI sign agreements committing to supply their own power for artificial intelligence data centers rather than forcing local residents to subsidize the generation of power.
“We’re telling the major tech companies that they have the obligation to provide for their own power needs,” President Trump said during his State of the Union. “They can build their own power plants as part of their factory so that no one’s prices will go up.”
