Members of Congress Introduce Election Integrity Legislation

Ballots and Elections
Legislators seek to ensure only U.S. citizens vote in elections and would place restrictions on mail-in ballots.

Congressman Chip Roy of Texas and Senator Mike Lee of Utah introduced the SAVE America Act, or the Make Elections Great Again Act, to increase election integrity. The bill would place further restrictions on mail-in voting, require auditable paper ballots, and mandate voter roll maintenance. Additional requirements, such as presentation of photo ID when casting ballots and citizenship verification, are also included in the bill.

House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil of Wisconsin said, “Americans should be confident their elections are being run with integrity – including commonsense voter ID requirements, clean voter rolls, and citizenship verification. These reforms will improve voter confidence, bolster election integrity, and make it easy to vote, but hard to cheat.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Congressman Roy and Senator Lee as they seek to increase voter integrity for elections.
  • For Chairman Steil to receive wisdom in his efforts to garner support for this bill.
