Issue 735 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon stated that charges under the Ku Klux Klan Act may be used in addition to the FACE Act against the activists who shut down a St. Paul, Minnesota, church service. “The Klan Act is… a law that makes it illegal to terrorize and violate the civil rights of citizens,” Assistant AG Dhillon said. “Everyone in the protest community needs to know that the fullest force of the federal government is going to come down and prevent this from happening and put people away for a long time.”

Pray for Attorney General Bondi and Assistant AG Dhillon to receive God’s direction as they seek to uphold U.S. laws and protect constitutional rights.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Representative Robin Kelly of Illinois introduced articles of impeachment against Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem last week. In the articles, the congresswoman cited violations of the Immigration and Nationality Act and the First and Fourth Amendments of the Constitution through the excessive use of force by federal immigration enforcement officers, and obstructing members of Congress from visiting facilities in which illegal aliens are being detained for deportation.

Pray for members of the House as they seek to hold leaders in the executive branch accountable.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

During a hearing of the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, investigating the dangers of chemical abortion drugs, Senators Ashley Moody of Florida and Josh Hawley of Missouri asked an obstetrician-gynecologist if men can become pregnant. When she avoided giving a direct answer, Senator Hawley told the witness, “The goal is just the truth.” He added, “Your refusal to recognize women as women and men as men is deeply corrosive to science, to public trust, and yes, constitutional protection for women as women.”

Pray for chairs and members of congressional committees as they seek to ensure constitutional protections are upheld by institutions and industries.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

The justices of the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Wednesday regarding President Trump’s attempt to fire a Federal Reserve governor due to mortgage fraud. The high court will consider whether the president has the authority to remove a central bank figure. The outcome is likely to impact how independent the Federal Reserve will remain.

Pray for discernment for the justices of the Supreme Court as they deliberate the authority of the president over institutions such as the U.S. Federal Reserve.
