Solid Rock
Unless you are a geologist or an Aboriginal, you are probably not familiar with Uluru. It has been called the world’s largest rock. Also known as Ayers Rock of Australia, the well-recognized red sandstone landmark is considered sacred by the natives of the region. However, it just stands there, offering nothing in particular to those who view it. Now consider your Rock, God Almighty. He is a place of refuge and safety. He is your protection, your foundation, the source of your salvation. He is the living Lord, and Scripture often calls Him beautiful. The winds and storms cannot erode Him – He is unchangeable. In Psalm 61, David says, “Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” Rely on all of these attributes of the Lord as your Rock today.
