Issue 734 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Army has formally inactivated the Security Force Assistance Command that was based in North Carolina. Six brigades, established between 2017 and 2020 from Fort Bragg, previously advised foreign militaries and supported partner forces around the globe. The units were created to avoid brigade combat teams from having to fulfill overseas advise-and-assist missions.

Pray for Secretary Hegseth as he manages the U.S. Armed Forces and for Secretary Driscoll as he heads the U.S. Army.

Pray for America’s Foreign Relations

Iran has warned the United States and Israel against intervening as the regime cracks down on extensive protests. As President Trump has weighed military action against Iran, the U.S. has begun to move some personnel from the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, the largest U.S. military installation in the Middle East.

The new Ukrainian defense minister reported to his nation’s parliament that 200,000 soldiers have deserted and millions are dodging the draft. Ukraine’s martial law prohibits men between 18 and 60 from leaving the country and requires them to register with the military, but thousands have illegally fled the nation. The defense minister said that technological advances, including drones and robots, are even more important as they face a lack of manpower.

Pray for U.S. and allied officials as they evaluate conflicts and uprisings and the best options for an American response.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimated that the nation’s flu season has not yet hit its peak. A new flu virus, called subclade K, has reportedly been the major strain that is highly active in all but four states to start the new year. The health agency published data showing that reports of flu-like symptoms have reached their highest levels in 30 years.

Pray for Deputy Health Secretary Jim O’Neill as he serves as acting CDC director. Pray for wisdom for all U.S. health officials as they assess public health data and publish advisories.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A New York bankruptcy judge blocked New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani from delaying the auctioning of 5,000 rent-stabilized units. The landlord, Pinnacle Group, carries more than half a million dollars in mortgage debt and has not made the needed repairs to the units. Mayor Mamdani had hoped to delay the sale so the city could preserve the affordable housing.

The attorney general of Minnesota has sued the Department of Homeland Security to stop a surge of agents after a demonstrator was shot and killed after ramming a federal officer last week. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is conducting Operation Metro Surge after significant social aid fraud was uncovered in the Twin Cities. The state of Illinois has filed a similar lawsuit. Neither is likely to succeed due to the Supremacy Clause of the U.S. Constitution, which states that federal law supersedes state law when they conflict.

Pray for state and local officials to seek God’s guidance as they govern their jurisdictions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“If you are feeling low today, God has a plan to help you defeat your depression!
First, God can refresh you. When Elijah was exhausted and emotionally drained, God provided refreshment (1 Kings 19:6).God took care of Elijah’s physical needs – food and rest. Sometimes you need to withdraw physically, emotionally, and spiritually and be encouraged in the Lord.
Secondly, God rebuked Elijah. In verse 9, God asks, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Yes, God sent the earthquake and the fire. But in the end, God spoke to Elijah in “low whisper” (1 Kings 19:12). You and I often want God to speak to us with spectacular events and situations. But God most often speaks in the still small voice of His Word.
And thirdly, God recommissioned Elijah. ‘And the LORD said to him, “Go, return on your way to the wilderness of Damascus. And when you arrive, you shall anoint Hazael to be king over Syria“‘ (1 Kings 19:15). God told Elijah that it was time to get back in the game!
Allow God to refresh you, and then reach out to someone else!–  Jack Graham, PowerPoint, January 2026
