Issue 731 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced changes to the Chaplain Corps last week. The secretary said the focus will return to faith and virtue rather than political correctness and secular humanism. He said there will be “a top-down cultural shift putting spiritual well-being on the same footing as mental and physical health.” The secretary stated, “Our chaplains are chaplains, not emotional support officers, and we’re going to treat them as such.”

Pray for Secretary Hegseth and military chaplains as they return the Chaplain Corps focus to faith and virtue and away from new age concepts.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said, “We have a ways to go” before peace will be reached in Ukraine. Senator Lindsey Graham encouraged President Trump’s administration to increase pressure on Russia if President Putin will not engage in peace talks.

Pray for U.S. officials as they continue efforts to bring about a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary Rubio recently designated two International Criminal Court (ICC) judges under an executive order from President Trump. “These individuals have directly engaged in efforts by the ICC to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute Israeli nationals, without Israel’s consent,” Secretary Rubio stated. “The ICC has continued to engage in politicized actions targeting Israel, which set a dangerous precedent for all nations. We will not tolerate ICC abuses of power that violate the sovereignty of the United States and Israel and wrongly subject U.S. and Israeli persons to the ICC’s jurisdiction.”

Pray for U.S. and Israeli officials to be discerning as they address the actions and decisions of the ICC.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has proposed expanding the sunscreen active ingredient list to include bemotrizinol, which is a sunscreen ingredient marketed in several other countries. FDA Commissioner Marty Makary said, “The agency has historically moved too slowly in this area, leaving Americans with fewer options than consumers abroad. We’re continuing to modernize the regulation of sunscreen and other over-the-counter drug products.” The FDA is currently accepting public comments on the proposed order.

Pray for Commissioner Makary and FDA officials and researchers as they review data and commentary on the proposed expansion of sunscreen ingredients.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Wisconsin Supreme Court has again ruled in favor of Catholic Charities after the state attorney general sought to remove religious exemptions for unemployment insurance tax for all charities in the state. Earlier this year, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled that the state violated federal law by “impos[ing] a denominational preference by differentiating between religions based on theological lines” when it denied Catholic Charities’ exemption request.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has filed a lawsuit against the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH), the Endocrine Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics for violations of consumer protection and racketeering laws. He stated, “We believe these organizations failed to disclose the risks, limits, and evidence when promoting so-called ‘gender-affirming care’ for children. For years, these groups insisted the recommendations were settled science. … Children were irrevocably harmed because truth was replaced with political activism.”

Pray for state judges and attorneys general as they protect religious rights and seek to protect children.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“The journey of faith changed the wise men, much the way we are changed today. When we step out on a faith journey with Jesus, we can’t help but be changed. When we labor for Jesus, giving our time, talents, money, and energy to Him, we are changed.” –  Pastor Mark Finley, HopeLives365, December 2025
