Issue 730 – Federal Branches

Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

Officials from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) are investigating the state of Minnesota’s administration of federal housing funds and social service programs. The deployment of federal investigators comes in the wake of widespread welfare fraud reported by Somali immigrants. “Illegal immigration and the housing affordability crisis are directly correlated,” HUD Secretary Scott Turner stated. “Fix one, you fix the other. That’s exactly what we are doing under the leadership of [President Trump].”

Pray for the president and secretaries in his Cabinet as they seek to improve the cost of living by addressing illegal immigration.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Congressman James Comer of Kentucky said that subpoenas for sworn testimony from former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton regarding their relationship with Jeffrey Epstein carry more than usual legal weight due to the bipartisan support of members on the House Oversight Committee. “No one is accusing the Clintons of any wrongdoing, but one thing is certain: We know that Ghislaine Maxwell was at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding,” Chairman Comer said. “There weren’t many people at that wedding, so there was a close relationship there.”

Pray for representatives in the House as they investigate ties to the deceased sex trafficker.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

The House Education and Workforce Committee, chaired by Representative Tim Walberg of Michigan, is investigating antisemitism at the American Psychological Association (APA). The organization represents over 170,000 researchers, professors, professionals, and students in the field of psychology. The committee wrote the APA concerning “antisemitic statements on APA division listservs, which include claims that ‘Hamas fighters in Gaza… are just protecting civilians’ and giving ‘kudos’ to Hamas.” The committee also cited educational credits offered by the organization for antisemitic speech and its published journal, which habitually uses antisemitic terms in referring to Jews and Israel.

Pray for members on congressional committees as they seek to prevent antisemitism.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

A federal judge ruled this week that President Trump’s order halting funding for wind energy violated the Administrative Procedure Act after 17 states sued the administration. The judge vacated the Wind Order, ending the nationwide freeze on wind energy funding. President Trump’s administration is appealing the decision to the circuit court.

Pray for judges in district and circuit courts as they hear and rule on cases challenging the president’s orders and actions.
