President Announces Funding for Farm Subsidies

USDA secretary says the bridge funding “is absolutely necessary based on where we are right now.”

President Donald Trump announced subsidies for farmers on Monday who are struggling due to low crop prices, rising costs, and trade tensions with other nations. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins took part in the announcement.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is providing approximately $12 billion through the Farmer Bridge Assistance program, the majority of which will go to row farmers.

President Trump said this aid package will  “continue their efforts to lower food prices for American families.”

Secretary Rollins stated that the plan “ensures American farmers can continue to plan for the next crop year. It is imperative we do what it takes to help our farmers, because if we cannot feed ourselves, we will no longer have a country.”

She continued, “It will allow farmers to leverage strengthened price protection risk management tools and the reliability of fair trade deals so they do not have to depend on large ad hoc assistance packages from the government.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump as he promotes U.S. agricultural products to foreign trading partners.
  • For Secretary Rollins as she facilitates the subsidies for American farmers and producers.
  • For Secretary Bessent as he monitors the financial position of the United States.
