The shutdown disrupted the department’s housing services and application processing for housing programs.
Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Scott Turner responded to Congress approving the resolution to reopen the federal government.
“This needless shutdown caused real harm – disrupting lives and livelihoods,” said Secretary Turner. “Without delay, HUD will immediately restore stability and resume full operational capacity to support the communities we serve.”
The disrupted programs include healthcare financing applications for mortgages to support care facilities, FHA reverse mortgage applications for seniors, Native American housing loans, and public housing.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Turner as he oversees his department’s efforts to catch up on disrupted work.
- For wisdom for HUD officials as they begin to process housing applications and support services.
