He says that politically correct leadership is over and recommends that those who disagree resign.
Secretary Pete Hegseth held a meeting with hundreds of U.S. generals and admirals on Tuesday at Quantico Marine Base in Virginia. The Pentagon head outlined the changes being made in the United States military. He began by introducing the attendees to the “Department of War,“ saying the era of the Department of Defense is “over.“
Secretary Hegseth stated, “The era of politically correct, overly sensitive don’t-hurt-anyone’s-feelings leadership ends right now at every level.” He outlined updates in fitness and appearance standards, saying that the mission is warfighting: “preparing for war and preparing to win, unrelenting and uncompromising in that pursuit.“
“Our warfighters are entitled to be led by the best and most capable leaders. That is who we need you all to be,“ he said.
“We are overhauling an inspector general process – the IG that has been weaponized,” Secretary Hegseth said. “We’re doing the same with the equal opportunity and military equal opportunity policies. No more frivolous complaints, no more anonymous complaints, no more repeat complaints, no more smearing reputations. No more endless waiting, no more legal limbo. No more side-tracking careers, no more walking on eggshells.”
The secretary advised the commander to quit if they disagreed. “If the words I’m speaking today are making your heart sink, you should do the honorable thing and resign.”
He concluded, “But, I suspect, I know, the overwhelming majority of you feel the opposite. These words make your hearts full. You love the War Department because you love what you do: the profession of arms. You are hereby liberated to be the apolitical, hard-charging, no-nonsense constitutional leader that you joined the military to be.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Hegseth as he implements updates to military standards and focuses on the U.S. ability to win wars.
- For President Trump to be led by the Lord as commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces.
- For the commanders to serve with honesty and integrity and be positive examples to their troops.
