Issue 715 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

Last month, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth fired Lt. General Jeffrey Kruse, who headed the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). While a Pentagon official cited a “loss of confidence“ in the general, the DIA was reportedly the source of a leak of a low-confidence intelligence assessment in June that estimated the U.S. airstrikes against Iran’s nuclear sites had caused relatively insignificant damage to the facilities.

Pray for Secretary Hegseth and Pentagon officials to be led by God as they evaluate those in leadership roles. Pray for the safety of the men and women serving on active duty at home and abroad.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said that “all options are on the table” with regard to additional sanctions on Russia as it has continued its attacks against Ukraine. Secretary Bessent stated, “President Putin, since the historic meeting in Anchorage, since the phone call, when the European leaders and President Zelensky were at the White House the following Monday, has done the opposite of following through on what he indicated he wanted to do.” President Putin recently met with India’s President Modi and President Xi in Beijing.

Pray for discernment for President Trump and members of his cabinet as they evaluate the options available to pressure Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Belgium has joined Australia, France, Britain, Canada, and other nations in support of a Palestinian state. When France chose to recognize a Palestinian State, U.S. Ambassador to France Charles Kushner said that “gestures toward recognition of a Palestinian state embolden extremists, fuel violence and endanger Jewish life in France.” Israel has faced opposition as it conducts an operation to seize the last portion of Gaza not currently under its control in an effort to release the last of the hostages and recover the bodies of those who died in captivity.

Pray for President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and leaders of other nations as they make decisions regarding the Middle East’s safety and security.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned manufacturers, importers, and distributors of animal-derived thyroid medications that they must replace current compounds “that are uncharacterized for safety and effectiveness.” The FDA noted it could take up to “12 months to safely transition patients to an FDA-approved thyroid hormone replacement product.” The agency has faced some opposition to its plan to transition patients away from the animal-derived versions toward synthetic thyroid medications.

Pray for Commissioner Makary and FDA officials as they make decisions regarding the safety of medications.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Illinois Appellate Court is hearing a case brought by the Illinois Baptist State Association over the 2019 Illinois Reproductive Health Act. The state law requires the coverage of chemical and surgical abortions under all employer-provided health insurance, and the state has denied all the requests made by the religious association for exemption from the mandate.

Two councilmen in Hamtrack, Michigan, have been charged with election and absentee ballot fraud in the 2023 election. A state assistant attorney general alleged that the defendants were paying newly naturalized citizens for their absentee ballots and filling them out for them, forging their signatures. One of those charged stated the case is intended to make “the Muslim and Bangladeshi community look bad.” All of the town’s six-person council are Muslims.

Pray for wisdom for state judges and attorneys general as they seek to uphold the U.S. and state constitutions.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Through no fault of his own, Job lost everything: his children, livestock, and possessions—everything except his wife and his life. When his wife told him that he should curse God for his misfortunes, Job said, ‘Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?’ (Job 2:10) Job didn’t understand what had happened, but he decided not to curse God.
Joseph was another character who could have felt sorry for himself (Genesis 37–50). He endured a series of betrayals and hardships that might have embittered most people. But through it all, he kept his faith in God and saw God slowly unveil the reasons for the path his life had taken. By the latter years of his life,
he saw clearly that God had been working all things for good (Genesis 45:5; 50:20).
When difficult things happen in your life, renew your faith in God. Trust Him to reveal His reasons in His time.” – Dr. David Jeremiah, “His Reasons, His Timing,” Turning Point
