Pray for America’s Military
This week, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth honored the U.S. service members who lost their lives in Afghanistan on the fourth anniversary of the Abbey Gate attack. A Special Review Panel is investigating the U.S. military withdrawal at the defense secretary’s direction. “Justice for the families of the 13 fallen service members is an essential priority,” said Secretary Hegseth. “Their sacrifice is the driving force behind this panel’s mission. We owe it to them, to the American people, and to all who wear the uniform to comb through every detail of what happened, delivering full accountability and restoring trust.”
Pray for the members of the Special Review Panel as they investigate the withdrawal of America’s military from Afghanistan in 2021. Pray for the safety and well-being of U.S. troops stationed and deployed all around the world.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Russia has backed away from a direct meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky, indicating the belief that the Ukrainian leader is illegitimate. Vice President JD Vance recently stated, “We don’t control what Russia does. If we did, the war would’ve been over seven months ago. What we do believe, though, is that… the President of the United States has a lot of cards left to play to apply pressure.” The U.S. doubled tariffs on India this week as a “secondary sanction“ for that nation purchasing Russian oil.
Pray for wisdom for President Trump and members of his administration as they continue to pursue peace in Ukraine.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
The Iranian parliamentary speaker confirmed that United Nations International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors would restart their work in Iran, after being blocked in the wake of the Israeli and U.S. attack on its nuclear facilities. Officials from the U.S. met with Israelis in Washington, D.C., to discuss the future of Gaza. The Israeli Defense Force has called the evacuation of Gaza City “inevitable.”
Pray for U.S. and Israeli leaders to be discerning in their planning and approach to Hamas and the Palestinians in Gaza.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Food and Drug Administration recently announced a second recall of frozen shrimp from Arctic Shores Seafood Co., Best Yet, First Street, Great American Seafood Imports Co., and Sand Bar. The shrimp, packaged in California, is potentially contaminated by a radioactive isotope and was delivered to Alabama, Arizona, California, Minnesota, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Utah, Virginia, and Washington. The first recall was for Walmart’s Great Value cooked frozen shrimp. The EPA describes the isotope, which is used in medical devices and gauges, as a “soft, flexible silvery-white metal that becomes liquid near room temperature.”
Pray for Commissioner Makary and FDA officials as they seek to ensure the safety of the nation’s food supply.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection is allocating $46 million through fiscal year 2027 for the buildout of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in the state. The Energy and Environmental Affairs secretary said, “We’re making it easier for everyone to get around as more Massachusetts residents choose to drive electric.”
A state judge allowed a lawsuit to proceed against the University of Alabama Health Services Foundation (UAHSF), the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), and two pathologists who harvested a deceased inmate’s organs. The parents of the prisoner were neither informed nor asked to consent to the procedures that were allegedly performed during a state-conducted autopsy of their son.
Pray for state officials and judges as they assess policies and their impact on residents and constituents.
