An official from the Administration for Children and Families says the state failed to “remove egregious gender ideology from federally funded sex-ed materials.”
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) sent a letter last week informing California that its Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP) participation in a federal sex education grant program has been terminated.
California says its PREP seeks to educate students between the ages of 10 and 19 to reduce teen pregnancy and the spread of sexually transmitted infections.
“California’s refusal to comply with federal law and remove egregious gender ideology from federally funded sex-ed materials is unacceptable,” Acting Assistant Secretary at the Administration for Children and Families Andrew Gradison said. “The Trump Administration will not allow taxpayer dollars to be used to indoctrinate children. Accountability is coming for every state that uses federal funds to teach children delusional gender ideology.”
