White House Announces Review of Smithsonian Institution Content

The review is intended to ensure that the “unity, progress, and enduring values that define the American story” are being shown before the nation’s 250th Anniversary celebration.

On Tuesday, the White House announced that it has launched a review of the content of the Smithsonian Institution before the 250th anniversary of the United States next year. Once the White House completes its review, it will give the Smithsonian 120 days to make the changes the administration requests.

White Houes senior associate staff secretary Lindsey Halligan, Domestic Policy Council Director Vince Haley, and Office of Management and Budget Director Russ Vought wrote a letter to the Smithsonian, stating, “This initiative aims to ensure alignment with the President’s directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions.”

The letter stated that the purpose of the review is to ensure the institution is depicting “unity, progress, and enduring values that define the American story.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and members of his administration as they seek to highlight the unity of the United States for the upcoming quadramillennial celebration.
  • For officials in the Smithsonian Institution and museums to cooperate with the review of the content.
  • For God’s grace to continue to be upon the United States and draw the hearts of Americans to Him.
