Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
The U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit’s Instructor Training Group recently conducted hands-on basic rifle marksmanship training for cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The Army instructor said many of the cadets are new to shooting, and that the training “includes the fundamentals, positions, working around barriers and the other elements needed to make their soldiers effective on the range and in combat.” He stated, “We are ensuring they understand the importance of weapon safety and the dangers of becoming complacent,” highlighting the importance of these skills when they lead soldiers.
Pray for U.S. Army instructors and professors as they prepare cadets to be leaders in the service branch.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Russia launched more attacks against Ukraine days before a scheduled summit between President Donald Trump and President Vladimir Putin. President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine said, “We understand Russia’s intention to try to deceive America — we will not allow this.” He urged stronger sanctions and pressure, saying, “If Russia does not want to stop the war, then its economy must be stopped.”
Pray for discernment for President Trump and U.S. officials as they prepare for the meeting in Alaska with President Putin.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently highlighted issues with the situation in Gaza, saying that most of the attention is being given to the humanitarian problem. He stated, “Not enough attention is being paid to the fact that 20 people that had nothing to do with this are being held hostage in tunnels on the verge of death, and no real talk about how Hamas needs to be disarmed and disbanded.“
Pray for President Trump and his administration as they continue to seek solutions to secure the release of the hostages.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., visited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention headquarters in Atlanta after a gunman shot up the building and killed a county police officer. Law enforcement reported recovering nearly 500 shell casings from the scene, and roughly 200 of the shots hit the facilities on the campus. The HHS secretary met with the officer’s widow, later stating, “We are deeply saddened by the tragic shooting at CDC’s Atlanta campus that took the life of Officer David Rose. We stand with his wife and three children and the entire CDC family.”
Pray for God’s comfort for the officer’s wife and family. Pray for wisdom for Secretary Kennedy and HHS and CDC officials as they assess security at federal facilities.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Indiana legislators have authorized the state’s Department of Transportation to request a waiver from the federal government to allow more tolls on its interstate freeways. Despite the state legislature giving the governor authority to add tolls on roads and bridges in 2017, the previous governor did not act. The federal waiver would allow the state’s transportation agency to implement the tolls without the legislature having to pass a bill.
Vermont has recently authorized Birth Centers that are exempt from the Certificate of Need that previously kept such facilities from being constructed. After advocacy from midwives, the centers have been approved for low-risk pregnancies and located near hospitals for transfer, if necessary. Concerns remain that such conditions will not improve rural healthcare.
Pray for state legislators as they assess the solutions for the needs of their communities and residents.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“Probably the one doctrine that I count as most influential within my beliefs is the Doctrine of the ‘Total Sovereignty of God,‘ a strong and committed belief that God truly is Sovereign in every aspect of His being, in His Holiness, His Righteousness, His Omnipotence, His Omniscience, His Love, His Divine Plan and Purpose for mankind, and on and on. In every attribute of His being, I am convinced that our God is truly Sovereign. … Why do I love the understanding about the ‘Total Sovereignty of God‘ so much? Perhaps it’s simply because it gives me great comfort to realize and accept that I myself am not in sovereign control over all the matters of this life, that all my own personal beliefs and behaviors, though they be important, are still subject to and contingent upon the ‘Sovereignty of God.‘ And I am completely satisfied with that subservience.“ – Pastor Bill Adams, Living in God’s Presence, August
