Praying for Our Leaders in Government

Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration

The Justice Department announced that four dark web websites have been dismantled that distributed child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The international effort, called Operation Grayskull, shut down the sites that depicted abuse of infants and toddlers and has led to the conviction of at least 18 offenders in the United States. Acting Assistant Attorney General of the Criminal Division, Matthew Galeotti, said that the result from the operation “sends a clear warning to those who exploit and abuse children: you will not find safe haven, even on the dark web.”

Pray for Attorney General Bondi and DOJ officials as they seek to protect children from abuse and exploitation and prosecute perpetrators.

Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York is advocating for continued funding for the Job Corps after President Trump’s administration paused operations at its centers around the country in May. The senator pointed to the skills gained by students of the fully taxpayer-funded government education and training program, as well as the employment opportunities afforded by the centers. A federal judge has blocked the president’s administration from shutting down the centers as a lawsuit proceeds.

Pray for the party leaders in the House and Senate as they evaluate the benefits of federally-funded programs.

PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES

Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chair Jim Risch of Idaho stated that the upper chamber’s majority stands with Israel after Senator Bernie Sanders’ measure to halt arms sales to the Jewish State failed last month. “Senator Sanders’ resolution to block arms sales would have reinstated the failed policies of the Biden administration and would abandon America’s closest ally in the Middle East,” Senator Risch said. “We can’t afford to go back there.”

Pray for the members of Senate and House committees to be discerning as they assess and vote on legislation that impacts international allies.

Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges

District Court Judge William Smith temporarily halted the new conditions of grants to the Justice Department’s Office on Violence Against Women that block funding for the promotion of gender ideology or diversity, equity, and inclusivity programs. The judge stated, “The Court concludes that the challenged conditions run afoul of the prohibition against arbitrary and capricious agency action.”

Pray for district and appellate judges as they hear challenges to actions and policies of President Trump’s administration.
