Issue 711 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Army commander of Space and Missile Defense Command stated that the service branch is planning to expand its air and missile defense force by 30 percent over the next eight years, including three more Patriot battalions. Adding five Indirect Fire Protection Capability (IFPC) battalions will keep pace with the service’s plan to develop five Multidomain Task Force (MDTF) units.

Pray for U.S. military commanders as they plan for the future expansion of forces and battalions.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Special Envoy Steve Witkoff went to Moscow this week to meet with President Putin and continue negotiations for a ceasefire in Ukraine ahead of new sanctions on Russia by the U.S. President Trump recently shortened the window he had given Russia to come to an agreement, and doubled sanctions on India ahead of schedule for purchasing oil from Russia.

Pray for President Trump, Envoy Witkoff, President Putin, and President Zelensky as all parties discuss conditions for peace.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

House Speaker Mike Johnson traveled to Israel this week to visit settlements in Judea and Samaria. The private trip, made with several U.S. House representatives, was postponed by the Iran-Israel war in June. Special Envoy Witkoff said that the U.S. has a plan to retrieve the remaining hostages, and said President Trump will not allow any more “piecemeal deals.“ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has approved full military occupation to control security in Gaza.

Pray for discernment for President Trump, Envoy Witkoff, Speaker Johnson, and Prime Minister Netayahu as strategies for securing Gaza are discussed and evaluated.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary is prioritizing the study of MDMA and psilocybin as possible prescription treatments for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and depression. The agency rejected MDMA as a prescription last year under President Biden. President Trump’s surgeon general nominee, Casey Means, has expressed support for psilocybin-assisted therapy.

Pray for Secretary Kennedy, Administrator Makary, and FDA officials as they evaluate the risks and benefits of prescription psychedelic medication.

Pray for Needs Across the States

New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte signed two pieces of legislation that block transgender treatments and surgeries for children. While puberty blockers or hormone therapies are still permitted to treat specific medical conditions, minors will have to wait until the age of 18 to seek gender transitions. The state representative who sponsored the bill said, “These commonsense safeguards… ensure children aren’t subjected to life-altering medical interventions they can’t fully understand or consent to.“

The Texas State House passed a motion to issue arrest warrants for members who traveled to Illinois to avoid attending the special legislative session on redistricting called by Texas Governor Greg Abbott. The governor had said that felony charges could be brought against them since fundraising to offset penalties imposed upon them for breaking quorum would violate bribery laws. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton said that if the absent legislators “ignore their duty to their constituents by breaking quorum, they should be found and arrested no matter where they go.“

Pray for state governors as they seek to address the challenges facing their constituents and governance.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“We celebrate this day because this is the day that the Lord has made and we have chosen, we His people, have chosen to rejoice in this day and be glad. Aren’t you glad? Aren’t you glad that you’re called a son or daughter of the Most High God? … We are royalty! … Get into your mind that you are a living miracle. We are miracle walkers… we are walking by faith and not by sight, we are walking in the power of Almighty God. See if God be for us, who can be against us? … We’re not just conquerors, we are more than conquerors through our Lord Jesus Christ. We have the victory. …
When you come to the Lord Jesus Christ and come into fellowship with Him, He offers you something better than the world. He’s given us the opportunity to come unto Him, He’s calling you unto Himself… He said His ways are easy and His burden is light. He will not burden you with things of this world, but His burden is light. The things He will call you to do, He will enable you to do it. The Scripture says, ‘I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.‘ So He will give you the strength and the ability to do all that you need to do.“ –  Pastor Alice Smith, Welcome Home, Miracles Still Happen
