The agency is acting on the criminal referral from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
Attorney General Pamela Bondi has ordered a grand jury investigation and a federal prosecutor to begin legal proceedings in accordance with a criminal referral from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard regarding the allegations of Russian collusion by President Trump’s campaign in 2016.
DNI Gabbard alleged that former President Barack Obama and members of his administration manufactured the intelligence document that created the story that Russia attempted to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
At the time she declassified the material, Director Gabbard said that President Obama and intelligence officials allegedly promoted a “contrived narrative that Russia interfered in the 2016 election to help President Trump win, selling it to the American people as though it were true. It wasn’t.”
