Issue 708 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The Pentagon announced that it would not send current Defense Department officials to the Aspen Security Forum this week. Pentagon Press Secretary Kingsley Wilson said, “The Department of Defense has no interest in legitimizing an organization that has invited former officials who have been the architects of chaos abroad and failure at home. They are antithetical to the America First values of this administration. Senior representatives of the Department of Defense will no longer be participating in an event that promotes the evil of globalism, disdain for our great country, and hatred for the President of the United States.

Pray for Defense Secretary Hegseth, Navy Secretary Phelan, Army Secretary Driscoll, and the entirety of U.S. military leadership as they seek to improve national security and preparedness.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

President Trump will be sending additional military aid to Ukraine as Russia continues to attack and has stalled peace negotiations. President Trump has also announced 100 percent secondary tariffs for trading partners of Russia that will go into effect within 50 days if Russia does not agree to a ceasefire. NATO Secretary General, during a recent visit to the White House, stated that many countries, including Germany, Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands, and Canada, are providing support to Ukraine.

Pray for President Trump and U.S. military and diplomatic officials as they assess the situation in Ukraine and seek leverage to obtain a peace agreement.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

A planned nuclear diplomatic meeting between the U.S. and Iran set for July 10 in Oslo was reportedly postponed. Iran is not cooperating with inspectors and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) acknowledged it does not have information on the amount or location of the remaining enriched uranium in Iran’s possession. Iran is at risk of UN sanctions being imposed by European nations if it does not reenter a nuclear treaty.

Pray for U.S. and Israeli officials as they assess the status of Iran and work to increase participation from other Middle Eastern nations in the Abraham Accords.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released data indicating that 1 in 3 teens and preteens, between 12 to 17 years of age, are prediabetic, which can lead to Type 2 diabetes. Director Christopher Holliday of the Division of Diabetes Translation said this information is a “wake up call.“ He said, “Simple life changes – like healthy eating and staying active – can make a big difference in preventing or delaying type 2 diabetes.” The CDC recommends physical activity at least three times a week.

Pray for Secretary Kennedy, HHS, and CDC officials as they assess the health data of American adolescents.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro signed a bill into law that lifts a ban on hunting on Sundays for five years. Sponsors and supporters of the legislation cite the family-friendly activity of hunting, the revenue generated from hunting license sales, and the need to reduce the deer population, as the wildlife has increasingly caused farm crop damage.

Oregon Governor Tina Kotek invoked the Emergency Conflagration Act after the Jefferson County Commission requested aid. The county commission appealed for assistance from the state’s fire marshal after the Cram Fire spread beyond the scope of local firefighters’ capabilities in the Jefferson and Wasco counties. The Oregon Department of Forestry is also supporting the effort with aviation.

Pray for state governors to seek the Lord’s guidance as they address issues facing their constituents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Navigating a divorce is one of the toughest things a person can go through. That’s why it’s important to know how to be a friend to someone facing that kind of pain. And one of the best ways to do that is by supporting them with prayer. There are three specific things you can pray for when you have a friend who’s devastated by a divorce:
First, pray that they would recognize God’s presence.

The Bible says, ‘The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit‘ (Psalm 34:18 NIV). God draws close when someone’s heart is breaking.
Second, pray that they would receive God’s grace. …
The Bible says, ‘Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need‘ (Hebrews 4:16 NIV).
Third, pray that they would let God help them release their pain. …
The Bible says, ‘I cry out to the LORD; I plead for the LORD’s mercy‘ (Psalm 142:1 NLT).
It’s like when a little child cries out for his father: ‘Daddy! Help! You’ve got to help me!‘ No loving father ignores that cry. Their heart always responds—and God’s heart does the same. He is waiting to respond when your friend cries out.
If someone in your life is struggling through a divorce—or anything else—you can be a good friend by supporting them with prayer.“
