Liberty
There is a mindset that has taken hold in the U.S. that freedom means people can do whatever they like, or say whatever they wish, without consequences. Even when individuals break laws, there are those who will defend this undermining of civil society. The Lord came to save humanity from the bondage of their sinful desires. While what you want to do or say may not bring actual harm to others, what will it do to your relationship with your Savior? If you indulge your emotional impulses, what witness does that give to the people around you? As the United States begins its 250th year of existence and you celebrate Independence Day, reflect on the reality that the Lord released you from sin to reflect His light, love, and liberty!
