Issue 705 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The Pentagon announced the successful test of the Long Range Discrimination Radar by the Missile Defense Agency and U.S. Northern Command at Clear Space Force Station, Alaska. The radar, which can detect missile threats from Russia or China, is part of the existing Ground-Based Midcourse Defense missile defense system but is anticipated to be the sensor for the future Golden Dome missile defense shield.

Pray for U.S. military leaders, commanders, and troops as they work to defend the United States and its interests.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

President Trump met with President Zelensky on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in the Netherlands. The U.S. president reiterated his commitment to ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. He acknowledged that President Putin of Russia may have territorial ambitions beyond Ukraine. President Zelensky expressed interest in buying U.S. Patriot missile defense systems and hopes for increased sanctions against Russia.

Pray for President Trump and Secretary Rubio as they work to resolve wars and conflicts around the globe.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

The truce between Israel and Iran has held up after President Trump directed Israel to turn its planes around which were sent in retaliation to Iran’s launch of missiles after the ceasefire deadline on Tuesday. President Trump stated he “was not happy” with Israel for bombing Iran the way they did ahead of the deadline. Envoy Witkoff said that the president would like to see “a comprehensive peace agreement that goes beyond even the ceasefire.”

Pray for President Trump, Envoy Witkoff, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and U.S. and Israeli officials as they assess the situation with Iran.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The National Institutes of Health is planning to phase out the office that issues federal guidelines for HIV and AIDs related diagnosis and treatment. The office issued a memo stating that it is exploring “options to transfer management of the guidelines to another agency within NIH.“

Pray for Director Bhattacharya to be prudent as he heads the National Institutes of Health and seeks to streamline the agency and reduce bureaucracy.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Colorado Department of Early Childhood has amended a policy that required all licensed resident camps to allow campers into the private facilities of the opposite sex. After a lawsuit was filed by a Christian summer camp, the state’s agency updated the policy to exempt “churches, synagogues, mosques, or any other place that is principally used for religious purposes.”

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein vetoed legislation that would have allowed permitless constitutional carrying of firearms. While open carrying is legal, the governor said the bill, which would have removed training requirements for concealed carry and brought the legal age down from 21 to 18, would make “North Carolinians less safe and undermines responsible gun ownership.” The state legislature does not appear likely to have a three-fifths majority in both chambers to overrule Governor Stein’s veto.

Pray for state governors, attorneys general, secretaries of state, and legislators as they address issues facing their citizens and residents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Every now and then, as I’m reading through the Bible, I’m struck by how gracious God is in choosing us to serve Him. I know it’s not a new or novel truth, but one that so encourages me.
Jesus didn’t call perfect people to do His work. How could He? There aren’t any. So Jesus uses people like us, with our many misunderstandings, our mixed motives, our weaknesses and failures; our humanity. Yet, before He uses us there is that transformation by His Spirit. He’s constantly changing, shaping, and molding us from the inside out. Day by day, our lives are becoming more and more like Jesus.
Don’t lose heart today, friend. God is using you. God is changing you. God is not finished with you. Trust Him!“
