Majority Leader Thune working to maintain a majority to pass the legislation in the upper chamber.
The “Big, Beautiful Bill” being negotiated by Congress was sent to the Senate after the House approved the bill in a narrow vote last month. President Donald Trump has been urging the swift passage of the 549-page megabill, which proposes a vast array of tax cuts, increases, and federal budget reorganization, but party divisions have emerged during Senate considerations.
“My guess is it will fail,” Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin when asked about a potential vote on the bill next week. “I don’t want to see it fail. I want this thing to succeed.”
Members of the congressional majority and President Trump’s administration have pledged to reduce spending and lower taxes for big businesses, but committees have not been able to settle on which areas to make financial cuts. Committee officials have vied for their area of jurisdiction to receive fiscal priority.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

- For the president and members of his Cabinet as they seek to deliver on the campaign promises of his second term.
