Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
Air Force Chief of Staff General David Allvin testified to Congress that the service would like to include funding in the 2026 Fiscal Year for the Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile (HACM) and the Air-launched Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW) hypersonic program. The technology would move from research and development “into the procurement range in the very near future,” General Allvin said.
Pray for Air Force Secretary Troy Meink and General Allvin as they seek to advance the hypersonic weapon capabilities of the U.S.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
Ukraine reported the largest-scale drone and missile attacks thus far by Russia earlier this week. While the war continues to rage, the two nations conducted an exchange of sick or injured prisoners of war earlier this week that was agreed to in talks in Istanbul, Turkey.
Pray for U.S. officials as they continue to seek a path toward a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
The Israeli Defense Force intercepted a Freedom Flotilla Coalition boat headed toward Gaza with aid before it breached a naval blockage. Former climate activist Greta Thunberg was among the passengers that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz directed be shown footage of Hama’s attack on October 7, 2023. Though she claimed she was kidnapped, photos show her smiling as IDF soldiers handed out water and sandwiches before she was deported to France. President Trump recommended that she attend anger management classes.
Pray for the Lord’s wisdom for U.S. and Israeli officials as they deliberate options to bring peace to Gaza and how to respond to Iran.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Food and Drug Administration has upgraded a recall on hundreds of thousands of bottles of the blood pressure drug carvedilol to Class II due to the presence of a carcinogenic substance. The agency stated that the tablets contain an “N-Nitroso Carvedilol I impurity above the recommended acceptable intake limit.”
Pray for Commissioner Makary to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the Food and Drug Administration.
Pray for Needs Across the States
The Minnesota State House repealed healthcare coverage for adult illegal aliens this week. Legislation passed in 2023 allowed foreign nationals to receive public healthcare benefits under MinnesotaCare since January of this year. Of the 20,000 illegals who enrolled, three-quarters of them were adults. If the state’s Senate passes this measure, those adults would be removed by the end of 2025.
Nevada Governor Joe Lombardo recently vetoed a gun control measure, for the second time, that sought to restrict the rights of people under the age of 21 to possess a semiautomatic shotgun or semiautomatic centerfire rifle. When he vetoed the first attempt, in 2023, Governor Lombardo said, he would not “support legislation that infringes on the constitutional rights of Nevadans.”
Pray for the governors and legislatures of states as they assess their budgets and programs against the needs of their residents.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“Epaphroditus is one of the many unsung heroes of the Bible. His name means ‘attractive.‘ And while we don’t know anything about his physical appearance, when we read the New Testament we quickly discover that he possessed a beautiful character. While others were abandoning the Apostle Paul in droves, Epaphroditus remained his faithful and loyal friend. When the Apostles lamented the selfishness of those who clamored for the Christian spotlight, Epaphroditus was on the short list of those who truly cared for the welfare of others.
In stark contrast to the values of our day, where self-preservation, recreation, and relaxation are a top priority, Epaphroditus, like Paul, worked himself to the point of exhaustion for the cause of Christ. Some would have expected Paul to chide Epaphroditus for overextending himself, but instead, Paul praises him as an exemplary servant of Jesus Christ.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, when it comes to individuals with attractive and godly hearts like Epaphroditus, we must be sure that they are not unsung. Paul writes of him in Philippians 2:9, “Honor such men!” So when you find a modern-day Epaphroditus, be sure he or she is not an obscure or unsung character in the story of your life.“ – Pastor Mike Fabarez, Focal Point, June 2025
