Supreme Court Lifts Injunction Against the Immigrant Parole Program Cancelation

DHS revoked the legal status of 500,000 under the CHNV program.

All but one Supreme Court justice ruled in favor of the ending of the humanitarian parole program by President Donald Trump’s administration on Monday. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson was the lone dissent from the opinion that lifted an injunction stopping the Department of Homeland Security from revoking legal status under the CHNV (Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Venezuela) program, which was instituted under President Joe Biden and then extended before the end of his term.

President Trump’s administration argued that the district judge’s injunction “nullified one of the Administration’s most consequential immigration policy decisions,“ maintaining that the presence of those who entered the country under the program was ”contrary to U.S. interests.”

While the case is making its way through the lower courts, the president’s administration is able to start the process of revoking the legal status of those who entered the U.S. under this parole program.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Trump and members of his Cabinet as they enforce federal immigration laws.
  • For Secretary Kristi Noem and Border Czar Tom Homan to be discerning as they head deportation efforts.
