Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth issued a memorandum last week regarding the “Policy on Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness” detailing the removal of transgender-identified service members from the U.S. Armed Forces. Since the Supreme Court stayed a lower court’s pause on the Defense Department’s policy, service members with a history or diagnosis of gender dysphoria are being encouraged to voluntarily separate from the U.S. Armed Forces by June 6. Those who do not accept the incentives face involuntary separation after the deadline.
Pray for Secretary Hegseth and U.S. generals and commanders as they seek to ensure the U.S. Armed Forces function at optimal levels. Pray for military personnel who experience gender dysphoria and are about to be separated from service.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
The presidents of Russia and Ukraine could meet in Turkey on Thursday for peace talks. President Trump, who is visiting the Middle East, might join Presidents Putin and Zelensky for discussions. He said, “There’s a possibility of it… if I think things can happen, but we’ve got to get [a peace deal] done.”
Pray for President Trump, Secretary Rubio, and Secretary Hegseth as they discuss conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine with heads of state in Qatar, UAE, and potentially Turkey.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
Hamas released Israeli-American Edan Alexander this week as a goodwill gesture. The New Jersey native was serving in the Israeli military when Hamas attacked on October 7, 2023. He is believed to be the last living U.S. citizen held hostage in Gaza. Direct discussions between the U.S. and Hamas have been held in an effort to secure a ceasefire and restart the distribution of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Pray for U.S. diplomats, Israeli officials, and Hamas leaders as attempts to implement a ceasefire continue.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health are launching a joint research initiative to understand the root causes of diet-related diseases. The comprehensive nutrition research agenda, including the effect of ultra-processed foods and food additives on human health, will help to guide the food and nutrition policies under Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
Pray for Secretary Kennedy, NIH, and FDA officials as they implement the nutritional research initiative.
Pray for Needs Across the States
Delaware recently enacted a bill to amend the Delaware General Corporation Law after a wave of state court decisions favored plaintiffs against corporations. Many companies incorporate in Delaware due to its consistency in corporate law and legal precedent. Governor Matt Meyer stated that the new bill will help “reinforce Delaware’s reputation for equitable, predictable, and efficient corporate oversight.”
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed legislation that will shield pesticide manufacturers from lawsuits for not warning consumers of potential cancer risks from their products. The first state to provide such legal protection was North Dakota last month and nine or more states are considering similar measures.
Pray for state governors and legislators as they craft laws to address their constituents’ concerns.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“Today, too, there are many settings in which Jesus, although appreciated as a man, is reduced to a kind of charismatic leader or superman. This is true not only among non-believers but also among many baptized Christians, who thus end up living, at this level, in a state of practical atheism. There are many settings in which the Christian faith is considered absurd, meant for the weak and unintelligent. Settings where other securities are preferred, like technology, money, success, power, or pleasure. These are contexts where it is not easy to preach the Gospel and bear witness to its truth, where believers are mocked, opposed, despised, or at best tolerated and pitied.
Yet, precisely for this reason, they are the places where our missionary outreach is desperately needed. A lack of faith is often tragically accompanied by the loss of meaning in life, the neglect of mercy, appalling violations of human dignity, the crisis of the family and so many other wounds that afflict our society. …
We are the people whom God has chosen as his own, so that we may declare the wonderful deeds of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light.” – Pope Leo XIV, May 2025
