Two U.S. citizens charged with organizing “disturbing” child exploitation.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced that two alleged leaders of the “764” online criminal network were arrested last week, both U.S. citizens. Prasad Nepal was arrested in North Carolina, and Leonidas Varagiannis was extradited from Greece after a coordinated arrest by Greek authorities.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation reported that the 764 online group establishes communications with minors online to produce and distribute child sexual abuse material. The organization members use grooming, manipulating, coercing, and extorting their victims to produce graphic, violent content.
“These arrests expose one of the most disturbing online child exploitation networks we’ve ever encountered,” NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch stated, calling 764 a group that glorifies “violence, weaponized abuse, and targeted children to advance a deeply depraved ideology.”
Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the men were part of “one of the most heinous online child exploitation enterprises” prosecutors have encountered. She added, “We will find those who exploit and abuse children, prosecute them, and dismantle every part of their operation.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Attorney General Bondi to receive God’s wisdom as she oversees the effort to shield children from abusive online networks such as 764.
- For Director Kash Patel to be led by the Lord as he heads the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
- For American parents to be aware of online dangers and seek assistance to protect their children from exploitation.
