The president’s order also calls for an investigation into possible discrimination by the outlets.
President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to remove federal funding for National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). President Trump stated that NPR and PBS promote bias. The president’s order also instructed “the FCC and relevant agencies to investigate whether NPR and PBS have engaged in unlawful discrimination.”
The White House stated, “NPR and PBS have fueled partisanship and left-wing propaganda with taxpayer dollars, which is highly inappropriate and an improper use of taxpayers’ money.”
Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) has already brought a lawsuit against President Trump’s administration in response to the attempt to dismantle it, and both NPR and PBS have expressed intent to do the same.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For President Trump to receive God’s wisdom as he seeks to reduce government bureaucracy and spending.
- For discernment for the president and his advisors as they work to cut funding and trim down the federal government.
