Praying for Our Leaders in Government
Executive Branch: Pray for the President and his Administration
Acting Attorney General James McHenry released staffers this week who worked on the former special counsel’s Justice Department case against President Trump regarding the mishandling of classified documents. In his “Notice of Removal from Federal Service,” the acting AG stated, “Given your significant role in prosecuting the President, I do not believe that the leadership of the Department can trust you to assist in implementing the President’s agenda faithfully.”
Pray for the agency leaders in President Trump’s administration as they seek to prevent the obstruction of new policies and their implementation.
Legislative Branch: Pray for Senators and Representatives in Congress
Senator Steve Daines introduced legislation last week to protect expectant mothers and their babies in utero from the abortion pill, stating it is dangerous to vulnerable young women’s health. He also introduced a bill to protect unborn babies with trisomy 21, since roughly 60-90 percent of U.S. pregnancies with a Down Syndrome diagnosis are aborted.
Pray for senators and representatives as they seek to prevent the elimination of unborn human life.
PRAY FOR CONGRESSIONAL COMMITTEES
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, chaired by Representative James Comer of Kentucky, is investigating sanctuary cities and their mayors’ attempts to prevent the deportation of illegal immigrants. Chairman Comer stated, “These jurisdictions take it upon themselves to decide what laws they will and will not abide by all for the purpose of shielding removable aliens, especially criminals, from federal law enforcement.”
Pray for legislators in the House and Senate as they seek to ensure federal immigration laws are upheld and enforced.
Judicial Branch: Pray for Supreme Court Justices and Federal Judges
The Supreme Court is fast-tracking the appeal of a family in Georgia whose home was raided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. After bashing in their door, throwing a flash grenade, and arresting a man, agents realized GPS had led them to the wrong address. The high court agreed to hear oral arguments in the case after lower courts ruled in favor of the FBI.
Pray for the justices and judges in federal courts to be impartial and discerning in their rulings and decisions.
