Additional National Prayer Needs
Pray for America’s Military
After members of Congress wrote to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to request a pause in the deployment of Osprey aircraft, the Pentagon announced they had been grounded. The dual-use craft, which can be flown as an airplane or a helicopter, has had a history of faults, the most recent being weakened metal components.
Pray for military officials and service branch heads as they seek solutions to the Osprey’s flaws.
PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE
A Russian foreign minister said that his country “is ready to study Trump’s proposals on Ukraine“ but made sure to clarify that “studying does not mean agreeing.“ NATO officials have also signaled a separate plan for peace in Ukraine.
Pray for the president-elect and NATO officials as they propose peace plans to end the war in Ukraine.
Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL
Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas proposed a bill that would require all official U.S. documentation to use the term “Judea and Samaria“ rather than “West Bank,“ a return to historical accuracy. As matching legislation was introduced in the House of Representatives, Senator Cotton said, “It’s time to call this region by its rightful name and stop playing into anti-Israel propaganda.“
Pray for U.S. senators and representatives as they attempt to support Israel through legislation.
Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
The Department of Agriculture has implemented the National Milk Testing Strategy to address the spread of bird flu in dairy cattle. The nationwide raw milk testing, herd tracing, and reporting of positive results is being administered by the USDA’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service.
Pray for federal agency heads as they collaborate on strategies to prevent foodborne illness.
Pray for Needs Across the States
A Minnesota election judge has been charged with felonies after allegedly accepting votes from those not properly registered to vote. Law enforcement reported that 11 voters had not properly completed voter registration identity forms, but had their votes accepted during the 2024 election.
Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt directed the state’s commissioner of public safety to develop a plan to begin deportation of illegal immigrants who are in state prisons by inauguration day in January. The governor stated, “We’re preparing for Operation Guardian in Oklahoma— the deportation of illegal aliens, starting with those already sitting in our jails.”
Pray for state governors, legislators, and secretaries of state as they assess the needs and issues their states face.
Pray for America’s Faith Community
“At the core of the Christian faith and Christian life, is forgiveness – to be forgiven and to live a forgiving life. When Jesus taught us to pray, He included this important fact and force in our lives, that we should pray ‘Father, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.‘ To live as forgiven people, therefore then, to love rather than to hate. To be kind and gentle and gracious rather than contentious and angry and resentful. When we realize how much we have been forgiven, we recognize and remember just what God has done in Christ, forgiving us, then we will choose to live a life forgiving others. This includes forgiving those who have hurt us.“ – Jack Graham, PowerPoint, December 2024
