Ukraine Uses U.S. Weapons in Strike on Russian Terrority

National Security Advisor says the weapons “have made a difference.”

Ukrainian defense official Yehor Cherniev confirmed the first attack on Russian territory since President Biden authorized the use of American weapons in short-range attacks. This strike used U.S.-made High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) to target logistics and artillery housing. Ukraine had already been making strategic strikes inside Russian territory but was using its own, less-powerful weaponry.

White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated, “We certainly have seen the fact that weapons arriving on the battlefield, at scale at quantity in the last few weeks have made a difference, have made an impact.”

He added, “And we hope they will continue to do so and that ultimately it will allow Ukraine not just to hold the line but to push back against Russian forces.”

Ukraine is still prohibited from using U.S. weapons for long-distance strikes on Russia.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For President Biden, Advisor Sullivan, and U.S. military advisors to be prudent in their support of Ukraine striking Russia within its territory.
  • For the president and U.S. foreign officials to be led by the Lord is their decisions regarding the use of U.S. weaponry.
