Education Department Selects 2024 Presidential Scholars

Education secretary announces 161 students chosen from each state and territory out of 5,700 candidates.

The Department of Education has announced the students selected to be the 2024 Presidential Scholars, recognizing 161 high school seniors for their high grades and accomplishments in technical and artistic programs. These students were chosen from a pool of over 5,700 high performers, with two students chosen from each state and territory and the remaining from technical schools and programs abroad.

“The 161 high school seniors selected for the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Presidential Scholars represent the best of our nation’s schools and inspire hope in the bright future of this country,” said Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. “On behalf of President Biden, I am delighted to celebrate their accomplishments, and encourage these scholars to continue to aim high, lift up others, and embrace opportunities to lead.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For discernment for Secretary Cardona as he heads the Department of Education.
  • For the president and U.S. education officials as they set federal policies for K-12 schools.
