VA to Launch Program for Financially Distressed Veterans

The program will help 40,000 qualified veterans prevent foreclosure on mortgages.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced that it will launch a new last-resort financial program on May 31 for veterans in danger of losing their homes. The VA Servicing Purchase program will allow the department to purchase the defaulted mortgages of financially distressed veterans and modify new monthly payments according to the veteran’s financial ability.

“This new program will help more than 40,000 Veterans and their families stay in their homes, and there’s nothing more important than that,” said VA Secretary Denis McDonough. “We at VA are committed to doing everything in our power to help Veterans avoid foreclosure, and that’s exactly why we’re launching VASP – to help the Veterans who need it most.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary McDonough to receive God’s wisdom as he heads the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • For VA officials as they seek to support U.S. veterans in both health and housing.
