Today, the House Rules Committee, chaired by Representative Tom Cole of Oklahoma, is meeting at the Capitol to consider six proposed bills.

The committee will discuss two pieces of legislation regarding the production of American energy, an act pertaining to clean water and permits, the possible effects of a carbon tax on the U.S. economy, and the potential repeal of the section of the Clean Air Act as it relates to greenhouse gas reduction.

The House Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by Representative Michael McCaul of Texas, is holding an open hearing in which two retired generals will provide an assessment of the withdrawal from Afghanistan by President Biden’s administration.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the chairs and members of the committees to receive God’s wisdom as they deliberate bills and hear testimony.
  • For the president and his military advisors as they assess the conflicts in Israel and Ukraine.
  • For the peace of Jerusalem and for prudence for U.S. and Israeli officials.
