Issue 638 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The 11th Army Airborne Division, headquartered at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, will begin to address challenges discovered during recent Arctic Circle multinational training exercises. The branch will consider equipment and procedural improvements after encountering the obstacles presented by 80-degree temperature swings, high winds, and regular sub-zero conditions.

Pray for the commanders of various American military divisions as they train and examine the upgrades needed to improve operations.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced that the U.S. is providing an additional $300 million in military aid to Ukraine. The “ad hoc” package is the 55th presidential drawdown and is being made through U.S. Army procurement savings. The move comes after U.S. intelligence officials assessed that Russia could begin to take the upper hand in the war with Ukraine if additional aid were not supplied.

Pray for the president and U.S. military and intelligence officials as they continue to evaluate the war and send aid to Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that President Biden had the wrong take on the situation after the U.S. president claimed that the prime minister was “hurting Israel more than helping Israel” in the war against Hamas. The prime minister stated, “If he meant by that, that I’m pursuing private policies against the wish of the majority of Israelis, and that this is hurting the interests of Israel then he’s wrong on both counts.”

Pray for U.S. and Israeli officials as they seek to gain the release of the remaining hostages held by Hamas.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration issued an alert regarding ground cinnamon products sold at discount stores containing elevated levels of lead. The retailers Family Dollar and Dollar Tree have removed the products from their shelves, and the FDA advised consumers to throw away the affected brands.

For federal health officials as they seek to ensure public health and safety.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that the Consumer Price Index rose 0.4% in February, up 3.2% from the previous year. The Federal Reserve is expected to continue to assess the economy, holding off on any interest rate changes until the summer.

Pray for U.S. economists and officials as they assess the status of inflation and the cost of living.

Pray for Needs Across the States

West Virginia’s secretary of state has been committed to election integrity, cleaning up the state’s voter rolls and eliminating the relationship the state had with partisan voter roll groups. A candidate for governor, the secretary of state has spoken in support of the American Confidence in Elections Act, which would implement election reforms and protect political speech.

Arkansas Governor Sarah Sanders announced that the state is going to require state IDs to reflect the sex of individuals as stated on their birth certificates. This policy rescinds the previous allowance of an “X” designation on IDs rather than male or female.

Pray for state officials as they set policies for their states and address their residents’ concerns.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Our commitment to Jesus Christ is an expression of allegiance. … The way that the Word of God searches us is in order to reveal things about us and to show us Jesus. … Don’t miss this day. Make sure that the things that God has spoken to you about you take seriously and that the aspirations, the confessions are dealt with in the privacy of your own heart and your own life and in your own home.“ – Alistair Begg, Truth for Life, March 2024
