FTC Acts Against Telemarketing Scheme

“The Sales Mentor” misled consumers with deceptive practices and false earnings claims.

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has obtained proposed orders against the operators of “The Sales Mentor” scheme. The scam falsely promised consumers high income from sales in telemarketing. The Tennessee-based group agreed to orders that would require payment of $1 million total in refunds to consumers.

“Traffic and Funnels lured people looking to work and earn an income with false or unfounded earnings claims, even after receiving legal notices from the FTC about the illegality of such conduct,” said Director Samuel Levine of the Bureau of Consumer Protection. “The FTC will continue to crack down on deceptive earnings claims that cheat consumers.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For members of the FTC as they work to eliminate scammers and fraudulent business activities.
  • For Director Levine and officials in the Bureau of Consumer Protection as they seek to expose illegal marketing practices.
